As of July 1st of 2007, Mesquakie Friends Center came under the ministries of Iowa Yearly Meeting. A new board was formed to assist in the operations of the Center. Representation from Indiana YM, Western YM, Iowa YM and the local body are all part of this exciting new partnership.
Victor and Brenda White have served at the Mesquakie Friends Center since it’s beginnings some 20 years ago. They have seen it grow from a vision to a beautiful center located south of Toledo. A house, barn, pond, worship center, pavilion, and a year-round educational center (along with playground equipment and basketball courts) are all part of the facilities.
There is a very robust ministry to youth on Wednesday evenings and a Sunday morning worship service for youth and adults along with a continuous reaching out by Victor and Brenda to minister and counsel on the Settlement owned by the Mesquakie people.
Some other annual events that the Center operates are:

Soaring Eagles Camp
This is a weeklong summer camping adventure for the youth of the center as well as other regional Indian nations.

VBS
The center runs vacation bible School each summer with the help of several local and area ministries.
Please pray for Victor and Brenda as they adjust to this new venture as well as the new members appointed to serve on governing board that God will quicken their hearts with a united vision and passion to serve TOGETHER as fellow-laborer!
As this ministry grows, the White’s have a vision of being a light to other regional Indian Nations.
Please consider how you can pray for and support this vital ministry to the Mesquakie people.
